CAM System
CAD drawings are downloaded to CAM software that produces sheet metal fittings and ductwork. The CAM system controls a plasma or laser cutter and ductwork coil line that produces accurate and cost effective sheet metal fittings and ductwork.
The CAD design integrates with our PractiCAM system for production for our shop duct fabrication.
Computer-Aided Design
CAD System
Detailed coordination drawings are developed on a CAD system. The drawings assist in eliminating potential conflicts between sheet metal ductwork, building structure and other trades. Crosstown utilizes PractiCAD for 3D duct design.
This Autocad system allows us to provide interference drawings for duct systems showing plan, elevation, and 3D views. Drawings detail the ductwork size and location and can be printed in colour to highlight the mechanical systems. The CAD system integrates into a BIM workflow; this enables the sharing and utilization of information within a BIM model.
